Destroyer, qui célèbre son 45e anniversaire, est sorti en 1976 et est considéré comme l’un des albums les plus marquants de KISS.

Il est le premier album du groupe à s’être vendu à un million d’exemplaires la première année et détient le titre d’album studio le plus vendu de tous les temps.

Le 19 novembre, UMe sortira KISS – Destroyer 45th sous la forme d’un coffret Super Deluxe 4CD + Blu-ray Audio ainsi que sur double vinyle noir standard et double vinyle coloré jaune et rouge en édition limitée, sur 2 CD et en version numérique. Destroyer 45th peut être précommandé ici.

Pour l’enregistrement de Destroyer, Bob Ezrin est devenu le nouveau producteur de KISS, aidant le groupe à atteindre de nouveaux sommets, tant sur le plan sonore que créatif.

L’album montre également l’évolution du groupe en tant que musiciens et auteurs-compositeurs, expérimentant de nouveaux sons qui se manifestent sous la forme d’un côté plus doux de chansons comme “Do You Love Me ?”, et de chansons très orchestrées comme “Great Expectations” et leur single “Beth”, qui a été classé 7e au Billboard.

Après le succès de l’album Alive ! de 1975, qui s’est classé 9e au Billboard, Destroyer est l’album qui a propulsé KISS sur le devant de la scène et en a fait une icône mondiale du rock.

À l’occasion de son anniversaire, UMe célèbre l’héritage de cet album phare avec un nombre impressionnant de bonus.
